The accident occurred when an overspeeding Bus, on the wrong side, collided head-on with a small goods carrier.
In the images surfacing from the incident, the small vehicle can be seen completely mangled.
The deceased were identified as Kapurthala-based vegetable traders Ishwar Lal and Mukesh. The driver, who also lost his life in the accident, is identified as Rakesh. All three hailed from Bihar.
According to reports, the deceased were on their way to Jalandhar to purchase fruits and vegetables when the fatal accident occurred.
Local residents and relatives of the victims, outraged by the accident, blocked traffic on the Kapurthala-Jalandhar road, demanding strict action against the offender.
