Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Punjab has decided to participate in the agitation by teachers....

Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh, 18th Oct'18: Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Punjab has decided to participate in the agitation by teachers. This was stated here today by LoP Harpal Singh Cheema, Punjab core committee chairman Principal Budh Ram and co-president Dr.Balbir Singh. The AAP leaders said that party was worried over decline in education standard in the government schools. This was the reason that during 2017 assembly elections, the AAP in its manifesto had declared to change the education system in Punjab on the pattern of Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi.

They said that AAP had strongly reacted to bringing down salaries of SSA and other school teachers from Rs.45000 to Rs.15000 per month on the pretext of regularizing them in education department. Cheema and other party MLAs had met the Hon'ble Governor of Punjab in this regard and demanded to regularize the teachers on full pay scales.
