Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, November 17: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 15855470 metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till November 16. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 15755981 MT of paddy while 99489 MT has been procured by the millers. Besides, 15039366 MT paddy has been lifted.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 5520414 metric tonnes, MARKFED 3620136 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3284377 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 1471068 and 1628027 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 231959 MT paddy.
