Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh, 14th Oct'18: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 896357 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 13. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 867451 MT of paddy while 28906 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 269667 tonnes, MARKFED 224536 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 181925 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 83556 and 95838 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 11929 MT paddy.
