Tribute to the Sacrifice of Colonel Manpreet Singh, Survived by Wife & Young Children

SAS NAGAR: In a Tragic Encounter with Terrorists in the Kokernag area of Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, Army Colonel Manpreet Singh, hailing from the village of Bharounjian in New Chandigarh, Mohali district, Punjab, made the ultimate sacrifice for his nation. Born in 1980, Colonel Manpreet Singh had served in various states across the country after joining the army.

After his marriage, Colonel Manpreet Singh resided in Sector-26 of Panchkula district, Haryana, with his wife, who is a teacher in the Haryana government. The brave Colonel leaves behind a 7-year-old son and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, both of whom now face the profound loss of their father's heroism.

Notably, Lakhvir Singh, the father of Colonel Manpreet Singh, was a retired army veteran who had already passed away. Manjit Kaur, the mother of the late Colonel, who is approximately 65 years old, currently resides in Bharounjian village along with her second son, Sandeep Singh, and the extended family.

Sandeep Singh, Colonel Manpreet Singh's brother, currently serves at Punjab University in Chandigarh. Upon receiving the heart-wrenching news of Colonel Manpreet Singh's martyrdom, the village community rallied around Sandeep Singh and his family, offering their condolences and support during this difficult time. Local social worker Davinder Singh Bawaja also expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Colonel Manpreet Singh, who dedicated his life to the defense of the nation.
