Efforts are underway to resolve the issue: Superintending Engineer of the CHP

RUPNAGAR: Despite two days having passed since the rain ceased, the Guru Gobind Singh Thermal Plant in Rupnagar has been unable to resume power generation, while the electricity demand in the state has soared to over 13,000 MW.

Sources report that the control room of the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) has also been affected by the inundation of rainwater near the thermal plant in Rupnagar. Officials and employees are diligently working to ensure the smooth operation of the handling plant's machinery, but as of Thursday afternoon, none of the units at the thermal plant have been able to commence operations.
