The Punjab Government has recruited 117 Veterinary Officers in the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department of the state

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has recruited 117 Veterinary Officers in the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department of the state under the door-to-door employment program. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister handed over appointment letters to the newly appointed Veterinary Officers at Live Stock Bhawan here today.

Congratulating the newly appointed veterinary officers on the occasion, Bajwa said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was committed to provide employment to maximum number of youth in the state. He said that with the deployment of new officers the work of the Animal Husbandry Department would get more impetus and the cattle breeders would get better services.

The Animal Husbandry Minister said that the service of doctors working in the Animal Husbandry Department were greater than the service of the doctors treating the human beings as they treat the speechless who cannot express their pains in words. He also said that the Animal Husbandry Department was providing the best breeds and foreign semen which significantly increases the milk production.

On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department V. K. Janjuya said that the Animal Husbandry Department was taking several new initiatives for the betterment of the livestock of the farmers so that the dairy farming sector could be further developed in the state and made more profitable for the people. He further said that the welfare schemes for the dairy farmers were being implemented smoothly and more efforts would be made to provide best services at ground level.

Others prominent present on the occasion included Dr. H. S. Kahlon Joint Director Animal Husbandry and Dr. Sarabjit Singh Randhawa, President Punjab State Veterinary Officers Association and other senior officers of the department were also present.
