Government ruining lives of dalit and poor students by denying post matric scholarship- Harpal Cheema

Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, November 9, 2018: The leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday criticized Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress govt. in state for curbing the right of poor and dalits by denying them basic facilities. He said that the condition of poor people of state is going from to worst due to the apathy of the govt.

Cheema said that the govt. just like previous Akali-BJP govt. is running away from providing post materic scholarship to the dalit and poor students. The scholarships for year 2015-16 and 2016-17 have not released yet that is effecting the lives of thousands students. He said that dreams of these students to get higher education are shattered due to the action of govt.

Cheema said that every section of society is suffering due to the ant-people policies of Capt. govt. leading to dharna and demostrations everyday in the state. He said that Capt. came into power by making hollow promises but have not fulfilled a single after grabbing power. The poor and dalit are deprived of basic facilities like ration and pensions.

Criticizing Akali leader and central minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal for doing nothing for the state Cheema said that Akali are equally responsible for the sorry state of affairs in Punjab. He said that centre govt. stalling the scholarship money and state govt. diverting it for other uses led to the harassment of poor and dalits.

Cheema said that if the dalit and poor students are not paid scholarships the AAP will gherao the govt inside and outaide vidhan sabha. He said that AAP will continue to raise the voice of people of Punjab.
