Chandigarh (Spokesman News Service): The Government agencies and private millers have procured 132879 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 7. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 132879 MT of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 123068 MT of paddy while 9811 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 34280 tonnes, MARKFED procured 33623 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 26695 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 14607 and 13807 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI Shas procured 56MT paddy.
