White Drug Epidemic Claims Another Life, Leaving a Family Shattered in Bhaloor Village

MOGA: In an alarming reflection of the escalating drug crisis in Punjab, yet another young life has been claimed by the devastating grip of drug addiction. The tragic incident occurred in Bhaloor village of Moga district, where a young man lost his battle against drug overdose. The victim, identified as Balwinder Singh, known as Nikku, was only 37 years old.

The deceased had been struggling with a severe addiction to heroin, and the vice had taken a toll on every aspect of his life. Such was the gravity of his addiction that he resorted to selling off all his belongings, including furniture, utensils, and even the doors of his house, to sustain his drug habit. In a desperate attempt to escape the distressing environment resulting from her husband's addiction, Balwinder Singh's wife, Sunita Rani, fled to her parental home, taking their three children along.

Tragically, this is the second death caused by drug intoxication in Bhaloor village within the past month, highlighting the severity of the drug epidemic in the region. Balwinder Singh's parents were already deceased, leaving behind a brother who works as a laborer in Chhattisgarh. The alarming rise in deaths due to drug abuse has sparked a wave of protests and frustration against the administration among the villagers.
