Chandigarh: Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today visited the Ugoke village in Barnala district to share the grief of Covid-19 victim Ram Singh’s family.
He said that Punjab government would provide ex-gratia grant of Rs 1 lakh to his family and a government job to his daughter. Apart from this, Rs 50 lakh financial aid would also be provided under the special insurance scheme for Corona warriors.

Sidhu said that Multipurpose Health Worker Ram Singh, who was deputed at village Khudi Khurd and Dhillwan under Block Tapa performed his duty with utmost honesty and sincerity during the time of pandemic.
Lashing out the miscreants who are sharing misleading audios/videos on social media, the Minister said that some people are doing narrow minded politics. They are saying there is no disease so no need to undergo any test and some mindless people falsely claimed of organs harvesting. This kind of mentality is very unfortunate.
Ram SinghHe said that such mischievous elements should visit to those families who have lost their family members to this pandemic then they will realise the seriousness of the situation.
Urging the people to cooperate with health teams, Sidhu said that health department staff is endangering their lives to save the lives of people so it is our duty to cooperate with them so we can jointly defeat this deadly disease.
