High Court issued a notice to the govt and sought its response

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has sought response from the Punjab Government over the petition filed by Gurmeet Singh Gill, a resident of Bukkanwala village in Moga and the alleged event manager of Amritpal Singh. Gurmeet Gill was detained under Operation Amritpal Singh. Now, He has challenged the NSA imposed on him by filing a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. 

The Deputy Commissioner has demanded cancellation of the order issued for detention under NSA and immediate release. The bench of Justice Manjari Nehru of the High Court has issued a notice to the government and sought its response.

The Petitioner has said that in the order rejecting the appeal filed by him against NSA, it has been said that there is sufficient evidence to impose NSA against him for attacking Ajnala police station, but the reality is that on the day when Ajnala police station was attacked, Gurmeet Singh Gill was detained in Ferozepur police station and he was released at 5:00 pm. The High Court has issued a notice to the government and sought its response in the matter.
