Who was National Hockey Player Sumandeep Kaur? Ever since the news of national hockey player Sumandeep Kaur's death due to suicide surfaced on social media, people in Punjab have been wondering about the reason behind such a bold step that she took. 

She reportedly ended her life by jumping into the Bhakra Canal, allegedly due to harassment at the hands of her brother and sister-in-law.

Who was Sumandeep Kaur, the National Hockey Player Who Committed Suicide? 

She was a 21-year-old national hockey player who hailed from Patiala. She was pursuing an MA at Punjabi University, Patiala. She aspired to represent the country on the global stage.

According to information, Rakesh Yadav, SP (Investigation), said that Jaspal Singh, a resident of Nalina Khurd village, filed a complaint that his daughter, Sumandeep Kaur (21), was a national hockey player and was pursuing an MA at Punjabi University. He was reportedly upset as his son Vikramjit Singh and his wife Pinky ill-treated her.

It has been reported that Sumandeep left home at 8 am on April 29. A missing report was filed after she did not return home in the evening. Later, the family got to know that she jumped into the canal. They conducted a search in the canal with the help of divers and recovered her body.
