The Government agencies and private millers have procured 28446 tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 4. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 28446 tonnes of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 20730 tonnes of paddy while 7716 tonnes has been procured by the millers.

Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 5363 tonnes, MARKFED procured 5738 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3852 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 3082 and 2695 tonnes of paddy respectively.
