Two Children Killed, Woman Injured in Robbery Incident at Tanda

DSP Tanda Kulwant Singh and SHO Tanda Malkiat Singh reached the spot along with the police team.

TANDA: Two children were killed, while a woman sustained injuries in a road accident during a robbery incident in Tanda late in the evening. The incident took place near Pul Pukhta of Tanda when a woman named Prabhjit Kaur was riding a scooter with her two children. Suddenly, two motorcycle-riding robbers who came behind took her purse and ran away.

While chasing the robbers, as soon as the woman drove the scooty, it hit the tractor trolley going ahead, due to which the child sitting behind Gurbhej Singh and his niece Gagandeep Kaur died on the spot and the woman Prabhajit Kaur was injured. The age of the deceased Gurbhej Singh is only 8 years while the age of the girl Gagandeep Kaur is said to be 21 years old. Prabhjit Kaur said that there were two mobile phones and about Rs 30,000 cash in her purse.

After the accident, she was brought to a private hospital in Tanda, where Dr. Lovepreet declared both the children dead. DSP Tanda Kulwant Singh and SHO Tanda Malkiat Singh reached the spot along with the police team. The CCTV footage of the robbers is being checked. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
