Sukhbir Singh Badal Tankhaiya Verdict by Sri Akal Takht Sahib latest News Today: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal faced a pivotal moment at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, where he confessed to multiple allegations raised by Singh Sahibans during the highly anticipated Tankhaiya verdict. The hearing saw Badal and other senior leaders of the previous SAD government being questioned on their actions and decisions while in power.

Admissions by Sukhbir Singh Badal

During the proceedings, Singh Sahibans asked several critical questions that elicited candid admissions from Sukhbir Singh Badal. He openly acknowledged the following:

  1. Neglect of Panthic Issues: When asked if he had neglected Sikh interests during the Akali government, Badal admitted, "Yes."
  2. Promotion of Officers Involved in Violence: He confessed to promoting and giving tickets to officers responsible for killing innocent Sikhs.
  3. Influence in Pardoning Ram Rahim: He admitted to using his influence to get the Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Ram Rahim, pardoned, including summoning Jathedars to his residence to discuss the pardon.
  4. Patronage of Sacrilege Accused: Badal accepted responsibility for supporting individuals linked to sacrilege incidents and the martyrdom of Sikhs during related protests.
  5. Behbal Kalan Firing Incident: He admitted to making mistakes regarding the handling of the Behbal Kalan firing case.
  6. Misuse of Golak Funds: Badal also confessed to misusing funds from the Golak (religious offerings) and misappropriating resources for publicity purposes.

Cabinet Members' Accountability

The Singh Sahibans instructed members of the then SAD cabinet to stand beside Sukhbir Singh Badal if they supported him in the decisions under scrutiny.

Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra initially denied involvement and stood apart. However, Jathedar Harpreet Singh and Jathedar Raghbir Singh presented news reports contradicting Chandumajra’s claim. Despite his insistence that the reports were erroneous, the Singh Sahibans ruled against him. He was penalized with a directive to take a round of the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex and address the Sangat, declaring he was not part of the controversial decisions.

Bikram Singh Majithia’s Position

Senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia distanced himself from the decisions in question. However, he admitted his failure to raise his voice against these actions and offered to accept any punishment deemed necessary. Similarly, Maheshinder Singh Grewal expressed readiness to accept accountability, acknowledging his role in the previous SAD government.

Other Leaders' Stance

Prominent SAD leaders like Bibi Jagir Kaur and Maheshinder Singh Grewal stood with Sukhbir Singh Badal, accepting collective responsibility for the decisions and actions of the government during their tenure.
