Given the anticipated surge in tourist footfall over the weekends, the police have identified specific parking zones for visitors. The designated areas include the Sector 5 parking lot in front of Sukhna Lake, the Rock Garden parking lot, the Kachi parking lot in front of the High Court, and the parking facility behind the office of Sector 9. This advisory aims to ensure an organized and hassle-free parking experience for tourists exploring these popular destinations.

Shuttle Bus Service and Route Adjustments:

Acknowledging the increasing number of tourists during weekends and public holidays, a shuttle bus service has been operational since November 18. The shuttle bus facilitates travel to Rose Garden, Rock Garden, and Sukhna Lake. Operating every 5 minutes from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the route covers key locations such as Rose Garden, Sector-9 Government Building, Rock Garden, and Sukhna Lake, with a nominal fare of 10 rupees.

As per the new route plan released by the administration, entry to Jan Marg and Vigyan Marg is restricted to the green route on weekends. Sukhna Lake is designated as a no-vehicle zone from point A to point B, with a separate route for exit. Specific restrictions apply to vehicle entry from Sector 5/6/7/8 Chowk, Sector 5/8 Chowk, Sector 4/5/8/9 Chowk, and Sector 4 tank mode. Only residents of Sector 4 and 5 are permitted to access these areas.

To curb potential traffic issues on Saturdays and public holidays, the administration has implemented a tow-away zone around the three tourist spots, preventing congestion and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
