Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has extended warm greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, exhorting them to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna in a spirit of oneness and harmony. In his message, the Chief Minister urged the people to come together, rising above all considerations of caste, colour and creed, to celebrate the festival, keeping in mind the essence of Dharma and truthfulness which Lord Krishna symbolized.

Captain Amarinder reminded the people of the sermons of Lord Krishna as propounded in 'Srimad Bhagwad Geeta', and said those had serious relevance in today’s materialistic society that is divided by divisiveness and hatred.
