Chandigarh: Prominent Punjabi writer Prof. Hamdardveer Naushervi alias Buta Singh Pannu has bid farewell to this world due to a heart attack at 3 am on Tuesday.
Prof. Hamdardveer Naushervi was having difficulty in breathing yesterday and after which he was given medical help, but his condition worsened after midnight.
BooksHamdardveer Naushervi, who has written in more than 25 books, newspapers and magazines, breathed his last at the age of 83 at the local Kavita Bhawan on Machhiwara Road.
He has two sons and two daughters. All of whom are married. He started his domestic career by serving in the Air Force and was later appointed Professor of Politics at Malwa College, Samrala and was released after more than 32 years of service. At that time he was a permanent resident of Samrala.
Although he had donated his body, doctors have refused to accept his body due to the Corona epidemic. There is a wave of mourning in the area after his death and many political and social leaders have expressed their grief over his death.
It may be recalled that the cremation was held at 12 noon today at Samshanghat Khanna Road Samrala (Ludhiana) and the last prayer will be held on June 13 at 12 noon. Although he did not get his due in literature, many of his writings are touching and life-giving.
