Chandigarh: Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to the welfare of freedom fighters of Punjab and their legal heirs.

Disclosing this here today Punjab Cabinet Minister Om Parkash Soni  said that the Punjab Government has decided to increase the freedom fighter pension from Rs 7500/per month to Rs 9400/per month from April 01, 2021 onwards.

OP SoniOP SoniSoni said the freedom fighters and their Legal Heirs (Sons, daughters/grandsons/grand-daughters) have been provided free bus travel facility in Roadways/PRTC buses from December 7, 2020 onwards.

Prior to this, the facility was only be given to the Freedom Fighters themselves/their widows/their unmarried and unemployed daughters but now their all legal heirs including son, daughter, grandchildren have also get the benefits of this scheme.
