Following recent disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, India is preparing for a large-scale tri-services military exercise, named "Poorvi Prahaar," set to commence on November 8.
This exercise is a coordinated operation involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, demonstrating India’s integrated defense capabilities along the eastern border.
The Indian Army will engage with Infantry Combat units, Artillery Guns, Light Combat Helicopters (LCH), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
The Indian Air Force (IAF) will operate from key airbases in Kolkata, Hashimara, Paanagarh, and Kalaikunda, deploying its fleet of Su-30MKIs, Rafales, C-130Js, Hawks, and several helicopter units. Additionally, the Indian Navy’s MARCOS commandos will participate, highlighting joint operational readiness.
A defense official shared, “The exercise aims to test synergy across all three branches, strengthening operational preparedness and defense posture in the eastern sector.”

Following progress in disengagement efforts in eastern Ladakh, India and China continue dialogue to further de-escalate tensions in the eastern sector, including efforts to restore patrolling rights in Yangtse, Tawang—a region that faced restrictions after a clash with China’s PLA in December 2022.
