PM Modi Meets IPL Sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi at Patna Airport, latest news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Indian Premier League (IPL) batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family at Patna airport.

Prime Minister Modi shared pictures of their meeting on his X handle and Instagram story, extending his best wishes to the 14-year-old cricket star.

He wrote, "At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours."
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also shared the post on his Instagram story.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister praised the young cricketer's hard work and dedication. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 7th Khelo India Youth Games via videoconferencing, PM Modi said,
"I have seen in the IPL, the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s spectacular performance. At such a young age, Vaibhav has set a remarkable record. There is a lot of hard work behind Vaibhav’s success.

"To bring his talent to the forefront, he has played many matches at different levels. The more you play, the more you will shine. Competing in matches and tournaments as much as possible is very important. The NDA government has always prioritised this in its policies," Prime Minister added.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old cricket prodigy from Tajpur village in Bihar’s Samastipur district, made headlines with his record-breaking IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2025.

At just 12 years and 284 days old, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy against Mumbai in January 2024, becoming one of the youngest debutants in Indian cricket history.

In the 2025 Indian Premier League season, Vaibhav was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for rupees 1.1 crore at the age of 13. He made his IPL debut on April 19, 2025, against the Lucknow Super Giants, becoming the youngest player to feature in the tournament. He announced his arrival by hitting a six off the first ball he faced, scoring 34 runs off 20 balls in that match.

One of his most remarkable performances came against the Gujarat Titans, where he scored a 35-ball century, making him the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket and recording the second-fastest century in IPL history.
