Posters urging worshippers not to offer Rs 2000 notes have been displayed

PANCHKULA: Temples across Panchkula have taken a proactive step by putting up posters urging devotees to refrain from placing Rs 2000 notes in the donation boxes. The rationale behind this initiative is the upcoming discontinuation of the Rs 2000 denomination after September 30. To ensure that these notes are not included in offerings, preparations are underway to open donation boxes in temples before the specified date.

Whether in small or large temples, the appeal to avoid contributing Rs 2000 notes is visible. The committee managing the Shree Shiv Mandir in Sector-21 has taken a decision to open their donation box prior to September 30 to facilitate compliance with this request. Neeraj Parashar, speaking on behalf of the committee, stated that this measure is to align with the forthcoming cessation of Rs 2000 notes in circulation.

Similarly, Sector-10 Sanatan Dharma Mandir Sabha has placed leaflets at their entrance, explicitly instructing devotees not to deposit Rs 2000 notes in the donation box. Raj Kumar Sharma, the head of the temple, emphasized that the temple's donation box would be opened soon. Any Rs 2000 notes found within it will be promptly deposited in a bank before the September 30 deadline to ensure compliance with the guidelines.
