Will Delhi Govt Extend Summer Vacations in Schools Amid Heatwave Concerns?

IMD has not yet issued new heatwave alerts.

Delhi School summer vacation holidays news: Due to extreme heatwave conditions in Delhi, the government schools in Delhi announced summer vacations earlier than usual, this year, and the current summer vacation period is set to end on June 30.

Meanwhile, the students and parents have been hoping for an extension of the holidays, considering the continuous heatwave alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, the recent updates by IMD would bring a shift in expectations.

The IMD has not yet issued new heatwave alerts, predicting a slight fall in temperatures and rainfall starting from June 28, which might bring significant relief from the oppressive heat.

With the latest weather developments, the likelihood of extending summer vacations seems not to be happening. Notably, the school administration has yet to make a final decision, but the improving weather conditions suggest that classes may resume as scheduled on July 1.

Likewise, parents and students have been asked to stay updated with official announcements from the school authorities regarding the reopening schedule, as the situation continues to evolve based on the latest meteorological data.
