"The existence of Congress is now limited to only a few states.”
SIR news: National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders have launched a sharp attack against the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi after the party announced a massive rally on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue at Ramlila Maidan on December 14.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad on Saturday alleged that the Congress has been continuously shrinking in the country’s political arena ever since Rahul Gandhi took over the party’s leadership.
Speaking to ANI about the Congress rally on SIR, Prasad said, "...The party, which was under the patronage of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and which gave this country independence, has been shrinking in the country's political arena since Rahul Gandhi took over the Congress leadership. The existence of Congress is now limited to only a few states.”
“In Bihar, they have suffered a lot, and if he still does not introspect and wastes the party's and its leaders' energy on unnecessary issues, his problems will increase further in the times to come,” Prasad added.
Similarly, Bihar Minister and State BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal also criticised the Congress and levelled serious allegations against it, claiming the party “drowned” RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and his entire party.
Speaking to ANI about the Congress’s upcoming rally, Jaiswal said, “What other issue does Congress have? Congress has nothing substantial… which is why they keep doing this. By raising the issue of vote theft in Bihar, they have drowned Tejashwi and his entire party. Therefore, raising the issue of vote theft means the downfall of Congress is certain.”
After the successful Special Intensive Revision in Bihar ahead of the upcoming Assembly election, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is now conducting SIR in nine states and three union territories. Some sections of society have objected to the SIR process, particularly its short duration, especially after three Booth Level Officers (BLOs) allegedly died due to tremendous pressure from authorities to complete the process before the deadline.
The distribution of enumeration forms in Goa and Lakshadweep has been completed 100 percent; however, the digitisation of the enumeration forms is still underway.
The second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) began on November 5 and will conclude on December 4.
