Bombay High Court on Badlapur alleged sexual assault case latest news: In a major development, the Bombay High Court Thursday raised serious concerns about school safety, stating that if schools aren’t safe, discussions on the right to education lose significance.

“Even four-year-old girls are not being spared. This situation is extremely shocking,” said Justice Mohite-Dere, as the Bench heard matters related to the alleged sexual assault of two minors at a school in Badlpur.

The court slammed the Badlapur police and asked why there was a delay in the recording of statements.

Advocate General Birendra Saraf, appearing for the state government, assured the court that all necessary steps would be taken to protect children, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up for the investigation.

The court has also asked for an affidavit from the state government regarding the details of the actions taken by Badlapur Police before the case was transferred to the SIT.
