Chandigarh: The Information and Public Relations Department is engaged in a most dedicated manner to raise awareness about Covid-19 pandemic and disseminating vital info to the public about keeping Covid-19 at bay by scrupulously observing health department protocols.
Discharging their duties diligently, some of the PR Officials, who have been on the frontline since imposition of lockdown in March, 2020 to raise awareness about the Corona epidemic in the state, have been found to be Covid-19 positive.

Disclosing this here today Navdeep Singh Gill, President, Punjab Public Relations Officers Association said that after a few officers were found to be positive, almost all the employees of the department who came in contact with them got themselves tested for Covid-19. Out of these five officers of the department had tested positive.
He further said that these officers are currently under isolation in their respective homes. The association prays to the almighty for granting them good health and wishes for their speedy recovery.
Apart from this other officers of the department who came in contact with these officers are also currently under self quarantine in their respective homes and their tests are also being conducted.
Covid-19It may be recalled that while the department is constantly educating the people about the precautionary measures to be taken regarding Covid-19 and adhering to health safety measures, the officials of the department are also following these Covid rules along with their duties.
Tests are performed immediately upon contact with a positive person or any minor symptoms related to Covid. Many officials have even got themselves tested twice.
He reiterated that even in the face of crisis, every officer of the department, whether in the district or at the headquarters, would spare no effort to create awareness among the people as per the guidelines of the government to check the spread of this epidemic.
