Ramgarh, Jharkhand News: An Agniveer passed away during physical training at the Punjab Regimental Centre in Ramgarh Cantonment, yesterday, on November 18, reportedly due to a heart attack.
The deceased has been identified as Agniveer Jashanpreet Singh (21), a resident of village Lohgarh in Firozpur district. Officials said the recruit was undergoing his routine physical training at the Punjab Regimental Centre when he complained of difficulty in breathing.
In a statement, the Army said, “On Tuesday, the 21-year-old complained of breathing problems and was given immediate first aid before being taken to the Military Hospital in Ramgarh. Unfortunately, he had lost consciousness on the way.”
Despite all possible efforts, the medical team was unable to save Agniveer Jashanpreet, according to sources. The Army said that the family is being provided with all necessary assistance. According to the statement, the Indian Army salutes the courage and dedication of Agniveer Jashanpreet Singh and expresses deep grief at the loss of a brave soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice while performing his duty.
The 21-year-old jawan had joined the Indian Army as an Agniveer in April this year. His training was scheduled to be completed next month on December 12. However, on the morning of November 18, he suffered a heart attack during training and passed away.
It is noteworthy that Jashanpreet Singh’s father had already passed away, and he is survived by his mother and younger brother. Following his death, a wave of mourning has spread across the area.
