208 Naxalites surrendered in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, along with weapons; Latest News: A total of 208 Naxalites surrendered in Dandakaranya, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh today, along with weapons, ANI reported, citing officials.
The 208 Naxalites, who were brought to police lines to surrender, along with 153 weapons, would undergo rehabilitation.
Of the 208 Maoist cadres who surrendered in Dandakaranya today, 110 are women and 98 are men. They comprise one Central Committee Member (CCM), four Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) members, one Regional Committee Member, 21 Divisional Committee Members (DVCMs), 61 Area Committee Members (ACMs), 98 Party Members, and 22 PLGA/RPC/other members, according to officials.

The officials, as cited by the ANI, stated that with this surrender, most of Abujhmad would be freed from Naxal influence and the Red terror would come to an end in North Bastar. Now, only South Bastar remains, Officials said.
Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated, "It is a historic day not just for Chhattisgarh but the entire nation when Naxalites in large numbers will surrender and join the mainstream.”

The 153 weapons surrendered, during the Dandakaranya operation, included 19 AK-47 rifles, 17 SLR rifles, 23 INSAS rifles, 1 INSAS LMG, 36 .303 rifles, four carbines, 11 BGL launchers, 41 twelve-bore/single-shot guns, and one pistol.
