Kothur G. Manjunath has been fielded from Kolar Seat

NEW-DELHI: The Congress on Saturday released the third list of 43 candidates for the Karnataka assembly elections. According to the list released by the party, Kothur G. Manjunath will be the candidate from Kolar Vidhan Sabha constituency. It is noteworthy that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed his desire to contest from this constituency along with Varuna in this assembly election. His name has been announced from Varuna Vidhan Sabha constituency.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, who left the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined the Congress on Friday, has been given a ticket from the Athani constituency. The second Congress list was released on April 6, announcing its 41 candidates and one candidate from the Sarvodaya Karnataka Party. Sarvodaya Karnataka Party's Darshan Puttannaiah has been announced as a candidate from the Melukote assembly seat.

On March 25, the Congress released the first list of 124 candidates for the Karnataka assembly elections. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been made a candidate from Varuna seat. Congress has announced a total of 166 candidates so far. Now the party has to announce candidates for 58 more seats. All the 224 assembly seats in Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
