A court here has sentenced a man and his two sons to life imprisonment for murdering his brother four years ago. Additional District and Sessions Judge Umesh Chand last evening also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 each on Harpal Singh and his sons Magan Kumar and Sogan Kumar, holding them guilty under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Rishipal Singh was shot dead over a land dispute at Datiyana village in Muzaffarnagar district on August 9, 2014, according to the prosecution. Rishipal's son Sonu had lodged a complaint against them at Chapar police station.
