Unnao Bus Accident At Lucknow-Agra Expressway: In a devastating accident on Wednesday morning, a sleeper bus traveling from Shivgarh, Bihar to Delhi collided with a milk tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao district, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 18 lives and leaving 19 others injured.

The collision occurred around 5:15 am near the Behta Mujawar police station area, reportedly as the bus attempted to overtake the milk tanker from the left side at high speed. The impact of the crash was severe, causing both vehicles to be completely destroyed. Among the casualties were two women and a child, and approximately 100 passengers, including children, were on board the bus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed profound condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to those injured. The state government and local authorities swiftly mobilized to provide necessary assistance, with injured individuals being treated at hospitals in Unnao and Lucknow.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed the tragic toll, emphasizing that hospitals near Unnao have been put on alert to handle the influx of casualties. The process of identifying the deceased is currently underway, with initial reports confirming the identities of two victims from Bihar.

The accident caused significant traffic disruption on the expressway, leading to a two-kilometer-long jam on both sides. Emergency response teams from UPEIDA and local police promptly responded to the scene, initiating rescue operations and clearing the roadway for traffic after several hours.

Authorities have issued helpline numbers for assistance and are coordinating efforts to manage the aftermath of the incident. Investigations into the exact cause of the collision are ongoing, as authorities work to provide support to the affected families and ensure such tragedies are prevented in the future.
