Himachal Pradesh Snowfall: Fresh snowfall in Kufri, Fog in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh

Fresh snowfall was witnessed in Kufri, Himachal Pradesh for the first time, this year.

Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh Weather Update: While several parts of Himachal Pradesh are witnessing snowfall, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are in the grip of dense fog. In the meanwhile, the visibility was recorded between 50 meters to 100 meters in many areas on Wednesday morning. Fresh snowfall was witnessed in Kufri, Himachal Pradesh for the first time, this year. As per the weather department, the cold conditions will increase further and there are chances of fog and cold winds till Makar Sankranti.

According to information, the weather is likely to be worse in 10 districts of Haryana and there may be rain in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri. The average temperature of Haryana has been recorded 6.1 degrees less.

In Punjab, the weather is likely to remain bad in 17 districts of Punjab and there are chances of rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Firozpur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala. The average temperature of Punjab has been recorded at 8.3 degrees less. 

In Himachal Pradesh, a drop in minimum temperature was recorded. As per the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Kukumseri was recorded at -8.6 degrees, while the minimum temperature in Kufri was recorded at -0.4 degrees. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 0.8 degrees in Bhuntar, 0.9 degrees in Sundernagar, 1.1 degrees in Solan and Mandi, and 2.2 degrees in Shimla.

Similarly, there will be fog in Chandigarh with less chance of sunlight. During this period, the maximum temperature of the city is likely to be at 12 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be at 8 degrees Celsius.
