NEW-DELHI: The National Capital is abuzz with preparations as it gears up to host the highly anticipated G-20 Summit, scheduled to commence on September 8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed this event as a historic moment for India. The summit is set to witness the participation of several world leaders, though some notable figures will be notably absent.

- US President Joe Biden, as confirmed by the White House, will be attending the G-20 Summit in New Delhi. Prior to the two-day summit, President Biden is slated to engage in bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Modi. Unfortunately, First Lady Jill Biden will be unable to accompany him due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

- British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, of Indian origin, will also grace the summit with his presence, marking his first official visit to India since taking office.

- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to lead the charge in addressing Russia's actions in the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will attend the G-20 Summit after making a pit stop in Indonesia for the ASEAN Summit.

- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is expected to be part of the G-20 Summit as part of his three-nation tour, which will also include stops in Indonesia and the Philippines.

- While Chinese President Xi Jinping will not be in attendance, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang will represent China. This marks the first time a Chinese president will not be present at a G-20 leaders' summit since its inception in 2008.

- South Korean President Yoon Sok Yeol will be present at the G20 summit and may address the growing concerns regarding North Korea's missile provocations and nuclear threats.
