Arvind Kejriwal skipped its summons for the fifth time on February 2.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal hearing in Court news: In a major setback to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi, the Court has issued a summons to Arvind Kejriwal and ordered him to appear in court on February 17.

The Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday pronounced its order on a complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the non-compliance of summons in the alleged money laundering case related to the liquor excise policy.

It is pertinent to mention that the probe agency ED approached the Delhi court after Arvind Kejriwal skipped its summons for the fifth time on February 2.

The complaint was filed before the additional chief metropolitan magistrate Divya Malhotra who had put up the matter for further hearing on Wednesday. Notably, Kejriwal skipped the 5th summons by the ED. He had said that it was “illegal”, and alleged that the BJP wanted to topple its government in Delhi by getting Arvind Kejriwal arrested.

It may be recalled that the chief minister was first summoned by the ED on November 2 which he skipped by alleging that the notice was “vague, motivated and unsustainable in law”. Later, the probe agency called him for questioning on December 21, however, he went for a 10-day Vipassana meditation course at a center in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district. In 2024, he was summoned thrice - once on January 3, January 18, and then on February 2. In 2023, he was summoned twice on November 2 and December 21.
