How to know the difference between Monsoon Fever and Dengue? India is witnessing the South West Monsoon and rainfall across many parts of the country. The heavy rainfall is giving relief from the sunny days but also causing flood-like situation in several areas. Likewise, the nation is witnessing a rise in vector-borne diseases like dengue and usual monsoon fevers.

In such a time, it becomes difficult to differentiate between the dengue and monsoon fevers. The changing monsoon spread so many illnesses like monsoon fever and nausea. In such s scenario, most of the fevers are by viral or bacterial infections that thrive in weather conditions during rainy days.

Bacterial infections like typhoid, cholera, and leptospirosis are pretty common during the monsoon season and primarily spread due to contaminated food and water. 

The common symptoms of most of these diseases start with a fever of varying degrees, loose stools, vomiting and nausea, cough, nasal congestion, and body aches.

While both come with fever, pain, and fatigue, dengue typically has sudden onset, severe body pain, and some rashes. On the other hand, many people infected with dengue don’t even experience any symptoms, at all.

Monsoon fever refers to various infections that occur during the rainy season. It may be accompanied by respiratory symptoms like cough and cold and are essential to get a proper diagnosis through blood tests and physical examination.
