OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap: India is the Fastest-Growing Market for ChatGPT, Latest News: OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap on Thursday shared some statistics about ChatGPT users and how astonishingly many images were generated in just one week.

Brad Lightcap, in a post on Twitter, shared that more than 130 million ChatGPT users have generated over 700 million images since the introduction of the Studio Ghibli-style image generation feature.
He wrote, “Very crazy first week for images in ChatGPT — over 130M users have generated 700M+ (!) images since last Tuesday.”

In his post, he also mentioned that India is now their fastest-growing ChatGPT market.
He further said, “The range of visual creativity has been extremely inspiring.”
“We appreciate your patience as we try to serve everyone. The team continues to work around the clock,” he added.
“What's happening with AI adoption in India right now is amazing to watch. We love to see the explosion of creativity — India is outpacing the world,” Altman had said a day earlier.

OpenAI’s recent rollout of an image-generation feature within ChatGPT, which enables users to create visuals in the style of Studio Ghibli, has drawn criticism. The move has sparked controversy, especially among artists and sports organizations, who claim it threatens human creativity and raises ethical questions.
