RSFC (Team Mohali): Amidst the India-Canada tension, a post is going viral on social media. This post having a picture in which some people can be seen protesting in front of Canara Bank. Now it is being claimed that some people mistook Canara Bank as Canada Bank and protested outside the bank.
Facebook user "Gagandeep Singh" shared the viral picture and wrote, "People are protesting in front of Canara Bank considering it to be Canada Bank."
Spokesman in its investigation found the viral post to be misleading. This viral picture is edited. Now people are being misled by making the edited picture viral.

Starting the investigation, we first did keyword search on this claim. We did not came across any news confirming the the viral claim.
Moving ahead we did a reverse image search on this picture. We found the actual picture of the bank shared in many news reports. In the actual picture there were no protesters in front of the bank. The Indian Express shared this photo in one of its 2021 stories and captioned the photo, "Canara Bank ATM in Sector 44 of Chandigarh (Express photo by Kshitij Mohan)".
Now moving forward we started finding the real picture of these protesters.
"Viral Picture of protesters is of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha workers"
We found the real picture of these protesters published in the report of Hindustan Times. According to the report, this picture is of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha workers, who protested against Shahrukh Khan's film 'Pathaan' in Agra.
Hence, it is clear that the viral picture was edited.
