Amit Shah Reviews Rain-Hit States Latest News Update: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reviewed the situation in various states following heavy rainfall. Shah spoke with the Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh.
In a post on X following these conversations, he informed that an adequate number of NDRF teams had been deployed in the affected states to assist those in need, and additional reinforcements would be sent if required.
“Assured them of all possible assistance from the central government,” Shah wrote.
Following the telephonic conversation, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah, through a telephonic conversation, obtained detailed information about the heavy rainfall in various disaster-prone areas of the state, including Kedarnath Dham.”
He added that for the convenience of devotees and the uninterrupted continuation of the Char Dham Yatra, emergency relief agencies of the Central Government were being deployed promptly.
Dhami wrote, “Considering the seriousness of the situation, he assured that the Central Government’s emergency relief agencies, including the NDRF and ITBP, are being deployed swiftly to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra continues without disruption and that devotees face no inconvenience in their travel. He also assured continuous monitoring and the provision of all possible assistance in other sensitive districts of the state.”
Uttarakhand has witnessed heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, and authorities have issued alerts for continued intense weather conditions through July 9.
As of today, the state IMD has placed 2 districts-Rudraprayag and Bageshwar under orange alert and 9 disticts under yellow districts.
Meanwhile no alerts have been issued for Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
The weather is more or less expected to remain the same until 8th of July.
