Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday, 12 August, flagged off a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Sant Kabir Kutir, Chandigarh to Kashmir ahead of the country's 79th Independence Day, ANI reported.
According to a report by Babushahi, the Yatra will pass through Punjab and then reach Kashmir’s historic Lal Chowk. The yatra will end on August 18.
The Yatra has been organized by a Media Student Association, the report said, and is aimed at ‘foster unity, promote respect for the national flag and strengthen bonds of brotherhood across the country’.
More than a hundred girls are participating in the yatra, and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini congratulated members of the association.
Nayab Singh Saini, speaking at the occasion, as quoted in the report, said, “This entire yatra is being led and managed by girl students. When our daughters take the lead in any campaign, it gains sensitivity, determination, and resolve manifold.”
“This journey showcases not only the strength and courage of Haryana’s daughters but also represents the power of women across the nation. I wish all the girls a bright future ahead,” Nayab Singh Saini added.
