Chandigarh Weather Update Latest News Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in Chandigarh for today as well. There may be rain with thunderstorms in some areas.
In the early morning, the sky seemed to have been cloudy. In the last 24 hours, the city received 129.7 mm of rain, the highest rainfall in a day this season. Due to this, a drop in temperature was also observed.
The Meteorological Department had recorded the maximum temperature at 27.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Currently, the temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am on Monday.
Reportedly, heavy rain is likely in Chandigarh till August 15.
The IMD has predicted good rain in Chandigarh and surrounding areas till August 15. Since June 1, a total of 455.8 mm of rain has been recorded in the city but it is still 39.6 percent less than normal.
On the other hand, IMD recorded the maximum temperature of 27.6 degrees Celsius in Panchkula on Sunday while at the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the maximum temperature in Mohali was 27.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 25.1 degrees Celsius.
