Air India In-Flight Wi-Fi on Domestic Flights Latest News Today: Air India has made history by becoming the first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity on domestic flights. The service, which launched on Wednesday, is available on Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321 neo aircraft, enabling passengers to stay connected while flying within India or abroad.

Travelers can now browse the internet, access social media, catch up on work, or communicate with loved ones during their flight. Air India stated that the Wi-Fi service would be complimentary during its introductory phase.

"Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it’s about convenience and comfort, while for others, it’s about productivity and efficiency. Whatever the purpose, we are confident our guests will enjoy the new Air India experience," said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India.

The service supports multiple devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones, running iOS or Android. Passengers can connect to the internet once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet.

The launch follows a successful pilot program conducted on international routes operated by the same aircraft models. These include services to destinations such as New York, London, Paris, and Singapore.

Additionally, Air India plans to expand the in-flight Wi-Fi service to more aircraft in its fleet over time, enhancing connectivity across its network.

In December 2024, Air India placed a significant order for 100 Airbus aircraft, including 10 widebody A350 and 90 narrowbody A320 Family planes. This order adds to the 470 aircraft the airline had already committed to purchasing in 2023, bringing its total orders with Airbus to 350 planes.

Air India also announced a partnership with Airbus' Flight Hour Services-Component (FHS-C) to support the maintenance of its growing A350 fleet, signaling its commitment to modernizing its operations and providing exceptional service.
