Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came out in support of farmers protest in North India

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came out in support of farmers protest in North India and gave a guarantee of assuring legal guarantee of MSP for crops if voted to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. He said he wanted to make sure farmers are guaranteed a fair price for their crops by law. These protests are happening mostly near Punjab and Haryana borders. 

Rahul Gandhi is worried about farmers not knowing if they'll get a good price for their crops in the future. Minimum Support Price (MSP) helps farmers by promising them a minimum price for what they grow. This helps them stay stable even if market prices go down.

Gandhi thinks it's really important to make MSP a law to protect farmers. He wants to make sure farmers aren't taken advantage of and can keep making a living. His support for MSP is making the farmer protest stronger and getting more attention from all over the country and even outside India. 

Rahul Gandhi's speaking up is making people see how important it is to listen to farmers and make sure they're treated fairly.

As agitating farmers head to the national capital, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday promised to give a legal guarantee of minimum support price on crops as per the Swaminathan Commission report if the Congress party is voted to power in 2024. Calling the day ‘historic’, Rahul Gandhi, who is leading Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Chhattisgarh, said that the step to provide legal guarantee of MSP will change the lives of 15 crore farmer families
