The musical adaptation of "Freaky Friday" will premiere on Disney channel on August 10.Based on Disney's recent stage version of Mary Rodger's 1972 novel of the same name, this TV musical will star Heidi Blickenstaff as Katherine and Cozi Zuehlsdorff as her daughter Ellie, EW reported."This movie is a creative collaboration with our Theatrical colleagues who developed an original stage musical from a beloved story.

"Now we've added a fresh twist by adapting it again into a movie for kids and families - with Broadway talent on and off camera - that has the potential to be a classic (Disney Channel Original Movie) for years to come," Adam Bonnett, executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channel, said in a statement.Directed and executive-produced by Steve Carr, the cast also includes Ricky He, Alex Desert, Jason Maybaum, Kahyun Kim, Dara R Moss, Jennifer LaPorte, Isaiah Lehtinen and Sarah Willey.
