Bollywood Star Faces Legal Scrutiny Over Viral Video from Festive Gathering

Ranbir Kapoor Latest News: Ranbir Kapoor, the Bollywood heartthrob riding high on the success of his latest film "Animal," now finds himself entangled in a legal matter following a complaint filed at Ghatkopar Police Station in Mumbai. The complaint, filed by advocate Sanjay Tiwari, alleges that Kapoor's actions during a Christmas celebration video may have hurt religious sentiments.

During the Christmas festivities of Kapoor Family, a video surfaced online depicting Ranbir Kapoor and his family celebrating together. In a moment that has since sparked controversy, Kapoor is seen pouring liquor on a cake, setting it ablaze, and uttering the phrase "Jai Mata Di." This specific sequence has led to accusations of religious insensitivity.

Advocate Sanjay Tiwari, in his complaint, has invoked sections 295A (deliberate insult to religious feelings), 298 (using words to hurt religious sentiments), 500 (defamation), and 34 (acts done with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complaint alleges Kapoor deliberately insulted Hindu religious sentiments, prompting the legal action.

The video's circulation on social media ignited public criticism, with many expressing their disapproval of Kapoor's actions. Despite the complaint, the police are yet to register an FIR in the matter. The legal process is anticipated to unfold as investigators assess the merit of the complaint.
