Rajkumar Hirani said when he saw an airplane on the roof of his house and learned about it, he decided to make the film 'Dunki'.

Dunki Movie Real Story: Shah Rukh Khan has been winning hearts, ever since the release of 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'. He is yet again winning hearts for his portrayal in the recently released film 'Dunki'. In the meanwhile, the film 'Dunki' was reportedly considered based on the concept of ‘donkey flight’, a route mostly used by illegal migrants to move to other countries. 

Before the release of the film 'Dunki', the film's director Rajkumar Hirani made a big revelation that a uniquely designed house in Jalandhar inspired him to for 'Dunki'. Rajkumar Hirani said when he saw an airplane on the roof of his house and learned about it, he decided to make the film 'Dunki'.

Notably, Punjab, especially Jalandhar, has the highest number of travel agents with 1200 travel agents licensed by the government, while the district also has thousands of travel agent shops. Similarly, there is a large number of people who go abroad via the donkey route. However, these fraudulent travel agents put people's lives at risk. Even today, several reports claim that the people are still being sent using 'Donkey flight' in Jalandhar.

Director Rajkumar Hirani made this revelation in a video titled 'Dinky Diaries'. The video was shared by Red Chillies Entertainment. In the video, Hirani can be seen showing a photo of a house in Jalandhar, where an airplane, with Bada-2 Air India written on it, has been built on its roof. 

He further said that this photo hadn't been edited and that it was a real photo. Hirani also said that there were many such houses in Punjab where airplanes have been built on their roofs and that he was surprised to see this. 

He can also be seen saying that this picture was taken when they decided to make the film 'Dunki'. Later, he visited the house and got to know that it was a cultural thing, where if any child or family member of the house goes abroad then they make a plane on the roof of their house to display it.

Hirani also said that these airplanes are also used as water tankers. but the airplane in the picture that Hirani showed, has two bedrooms inside it.
