However, his ketamine infusion therapy, which is usually used for depression and anxiety, was documented a week and a half before his sudden death. It has been stated that “Intranasal use is generally less safe as it is often self-administered. This also can drive drug-seeking more aggressively.”

Further complications that surfaced in Matthew Perry's death mystery involved buprenorphine which, as per Johnson, can increase the side effects of ketamine's sedating, leading to unresponsiveness.
