Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2023: Whenever it comes to cricket, World Cup is always a big bonanza event with over 10 teams giving all their efforts to enter semifinals and ultimately win the mega event. However, only four teams get to reach semis and then only one team wins the tournament. This year, the league stage of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is being played in a round-robin format where each team is playing all their opponents.

Pakistan started well in the tournament with a victory of 81 runs margin against Netherlands and 6 wickets win against Sri Lanka. Men in Green were on a winning streak until they met India who defeated them by 7 wickets.

As of now, Pakistan has only won 2 matches out of 6 matches played and has a total of 4 points with them. They are currently placed at 6th position. In the meanwhile, it has become nearly impossible for Pakistan to qualify for semifinals, but nearly. There are still a chance for Pakistan. If everything goes, as per calculation, Pakistan may be able to qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal.

ICC World Cup 2023: Here's the calculation how Pakistan can still enter semifinal

  • Australia defeats New Zealand in today's (October 28) match and then lose all its subsequent matches.
  • New Zealand should lose all their next matches.
  • Both Sri Lanka and Afghanistan should not win more than two matches each.
  • England and Bangladesh should not be able to reach ten points

Following the defeat against India, Pakistan seemed to have lost confidence in them as they have been on a losing streak. After India defeated Pakistan, Men in Green were defeated by Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.
