BCCI Files Complaint Against Two Pakistani Players, PCB Lodges Retaliatory Complaint Latest News: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed an official complaint with the ICC against Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their alleged provocative gestures during the India vs Pakistan Super 4s clash in the Asia Cup 2025, India Today reported.

According to the report, BCCI filed the complaint on Wednesday, and the ICC has acknowledged receipt of the email. The report added that if Sahibzada and Rauf deny these allegations in writing, an ICC hearing could take place, where the two Pakistani players may have to appear before ICC Elite Panel Referee Richie Richardson.

In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged an official complaint with the international governing body against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. The complaint pertains to Yadav expressing solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and dedicating his team’s victory to the Indian Armed Forces involved in Operation Sindoor, which the PCB termed as a retaliatory gesture.

Suryakumar Yadav made the comments following the September 14 game, posting, “This win is dedicated to the armed forces of India and the victims of the Pahalgam attack. Jai Hind.” The PCB has alleged that Surya’s comments were “political.” The report also noted that, technically, a complaint must be filed within seven days of when the comment was made.

Rauf and Farhan’s gestures during the September 21 match

According to the report, during the September 21 match, Rauf allegedly made gestures depicting the bringing down of a plane to mock India’s military action. He also reportedly hurled abuses at Indian openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma during his bowling spell.

Meanwhile, Sahibzada, after reaching his milestone, celebrated with a gun-firing gesture, using his bat as a machine gun prop.
Explaining his actions later, Farhan told reporters: “That celebration was just a moment at that time. I don’t usually celebrate after scoring 50, but it suddenly came to my mind to do it. I don’t know how people will take it, and I don’t care about that.”

Both Pakistani players will now have to explain their gestures at the ICC hearing and may face sanctions under the code of conduct if they fail to convince the panel.
