India won 2 medals for the 1st time in the women's skeet at the senior level in the World Cup

ALMATY: Indian women shotgun shooters Ganemat Sekhon and Darshna Rathore has made India feel proud with her outstanding performances. Ganemat Sekhon clinched a silver and Darshna Rathore won bronze at the ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) World Cup here on Tuesday. With this, India won two medals for the first time in the women's skeet at the senior level in the World Cup.

Kazakhstan's local contender Esem Orinbe defeated Ganemat in the shoot-off to win the gold medal. Ganemat and Orinbe scored 50-50-50 in the 60-shot final. Ganemat missed one of the two targets in the shootout. It was Ganemat's second individual World Cup medal while Darshna secured a medal in her first final at the senior level.

Earlier on the second day of the competition, Darshna equaled the national record with a score of 120 to qualify for the six-woman final with second place. Ganimat stood fourth with a score of 117.
